Ancient Eyptian Sculpture Made to Resemble Human Being Resembles Human Being. Station in Chicago is "Astounded."

Astoundingly, this is not a picture of Michael Jackson.

Yahoo had a link to a story from Chicago about an Egyptian bust currently being kept in the Field Museum that supposedly resembles the late Michael Jackson.

“I have no idea whether Jackson ever visited the museum,” a Field spokesperson said to the Sun-Times' Michael Sneed. “But the similarity between the limestone statue of a woman – which is about 3,000 years old --- and Jackson is astounding.”

Well, let's see. It has two eyes, two lips, and a nose that's been damaged. Sort of like this one:

Show me a piece of Egyptian sculpture that doesn't resemble Michael Jackson, then I'll be impressed.

This is a picture of Michael Jackson.

People have also seen the virgin Mary in a grilled cheese sandwich. And, in a griddle.

Sorry, but not all human beings look alike. By this standard, a five-year-old could draw a crude picture of something that just happens to look like it has two eyes, two lips and a damaged nose, and suddenly you have a depiction of Michael Jackson.

The point is that the bust in question has facial features which greatly resemble Michael Jackson's features SPECIFICALLY. None of the other examples of statues you have shown resemble Michael Jackson in the slightest--the second one, for example, has a much taller and slimmer face, a fatter nose, rounder eyes, and so on. Just because it's a statue of a person doesn't mean it looks like any other person anywhere.

If anything this is just proof that no human being is fully unique. We all have the same genetic markers so it's completely reasonable that there are and have been unrelated people who look very, very similar, if not identical. But we are certainly not all the same--just because we all have the same features (eyes, lips, nose) does not mean those features look the same. It just so happens that the features of the statue and Michael Jackson share very similar qualities. That's all.

It actually looks like a perfect merger of E.T. the Extra Terrestrial and Jacko, which makes it wonderful in my book.
